Monitoring sample gas
The gases released in some production processes can create an explosive atmosphere if they come into contact with atmospheric oxygen. Monitoring sample gases can significantly reduce the risks associated with this situation.
Gas monitoring involves the continuous analysis of the composition of the process gases. This ensures the reliable detection of the point at which explosion danger is present. When the concentration of the relevant gases approaches the explosive limit, appropriate inertisation measures can be taken. For example, nitrogen can be introduced into the system in order to displace the atmospheric oxygen.
Sample gas monitoring is performed in an analysis cabinet. It contains the analysers and the upstream components required to process the sample gas.
